OMG!!! Itook myself out to breakfast this morning. The Flipping is the place to be. I had the Avocado Benedict and it was Awesome. I will be back.
MoreFirst time visiting. The food was amazing! I had eggs Benedict with Texas Hash & side of bacon . I will definitely go back. Nice waitress service also.
MoreThis place was absolutely ridiculous. I ordered “The Normal” for $8.75. Added 2 extra sausage patties and sausage gravy and my meal ticket was $15. They on my ticket double charged me for my biscuit and sausage gravy. I questioned the price and all they said was that’s how I have been told to charge out the sausage gravy. So 2 patties and a few chunks in the gravy seriously cost $6.25? The gentleman I was eating breakfast with ordered the same meal but added a single banana pancake and a coffee. They charged him $22 for his meal. They charged like 2.25 for the pancake and then an additional $3 for the cut up banana pieces for n the pancake. And he also got double charged for is biscuit and gravy because he wanted the sausage gravy also.Let me remind you all these are an $8.75 Breakfast plate. I was very disappointed in the response of that’s just how it is by my waitress.
MoreBest breakfast experience in town! A little pricey, but soooooo good!
Great food and service, cinnamon poppers were amazing, waitress Jane was very kind! Will definitely go there again.
MoreGreat food! Great brunch or breakfast selection. Excellent service.
My family and I have eaten here on several occasions. The waitresses tend not to be as attentive as I would like, often approaching our table only to take our order and deliver the check. However, the food is delicious, and the pancakes, my personal favorite, are some of the best I have ever had.
MoreI gave a 3 and this is why...the food was good there were 11 of us in our table everyone enjoyed the food...but the staff was very rude from the lady who seated us to the lady that took our order...we spent $158.00 and we will never go back again, with staff like that.
MoreFood was delicious here i got the pancake wrap with sausage, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. Service was excellent.
MoreThis is a good locally owned restaurant. They also serve much more than breakfast. I had the Triple, which comes with 3 eggs, 3 meats (your choice of bacon or sausage), and 3 pancakes. It was all very delicious. By the time you buy a drink I would figure about $10 per person, including tip, if you're budgeting. But I'm sure you could eat here for less or more. I'm not sure if the wait staff was over worked or if they were understaffed but it seemed like they were having a hard time being attentive to their tables. I'm making that judgement based on the service at my table and those around me. The server was great, I just don't think she had enough time to be as attentive as I typically like table service. I will be back to check it out again. Overall, the restaurant has a small hometown feel, great breakfast, and decent service.
MoreWhenever I got eat somewhere out of town I always compare I to the flipping egg. Nothing ever comes close
MoreNice new location, great service, excellent food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Highly recommend the german apple pancake! Totally worth the wait.
MoreGood people here, food well prepared, they don't hover too much,....only knock, portion are small, might just be what I ordered, but would have liked it to be bigger.
MoreThis business does not treat people of color fairly. They also do not pay their employees the correct pay, and severely under pay them. Don’t give them your business.
MoreThis was the first time coming to Flipping Egg. I'm in town for a birthday. The food itself was good and the lady at the front desk was helpful and knowledgeable. Those truthfully get 5 stars. What I ordered (to go order) was very simple and straightforward: 1. bacon, egg fried hard, and cheese croissant, and 2. Sausage disk/patty, egg scrambled, and cheese croissant. It didn't take long to get the food. When I got back to the hotel I sorted the two meals. The sausage and scrambled was perfect. However the bacon egg and cheese was wrong. The egg fried hard was right but it had sausage instead of bacon. The verification/quality control needs work. This part gets a 1. My recommendation is that the restuarant and food are great but the folks in back need to read the order correctly.
MoreOur first time here, and it was delicious! So good, I didn't need to add salt and pepper! I had The Normal and my husband had the chicken fried steak! He is a food critic and he was very impressed!Thank you for being a great waitress, Jane!
MoreWe love to eat at the flipping egg! The Eggs Benedict all of the variations are delish. Their multiple other breakfast foods are always so tasty and fresh. Coffee yummy. And the service is very good. Also, when my in laws were downsizing and cleaning out years of "stuff" we donated a whole bunch of coffee mugs from everywhere so we like to n look around to see if anybody is drinking out of one of their mugs!
MoreWe were looking forward to eating here because of all the reviews. It was very disappointing. The OJ was like something you find at a hospital. The food was bland. Then we were going to give it another shot because they have a new location. It was so packed we did not wait or feel comfortable being inside. Abilene desperately needs a breakfast restaurant that is not IHOP or Dixie Pig.
MoreIt did not seem the restaurant is taking any COVID precautionary steps in their service. Not one employee was wearing a mask. Reusable menus. We were seated back to back with patrons at another booth (even though more than half the tables were empty) and zero evidence of any extra sanitizing occurring.
MoreGreat service and workers. I got short stack pancakes and bacon. A lot of food for your money. First time here yet will not be my last
MoreIt's a little pricey but very good. We had the eggs benedict and pancakes. About equal to ihop but the service here was much better!
MoreBacon was good. Server was thorough...BUT, eggs were over cooked...and HEADS UP DIABETICS: THEY CHARGE 50 CENTS FOR A TINY CUP OF SUGAR-FREE SYRUP AND IT TAKES AT LEAST TWO TO EAT AN ORDER OF PANCAKES...we were charged $2 FOR SYRUP!! IMO this is discrimination against diabetics and others who limit their sugar. When you order pancakes syrup is supposed to come with it. Surprised they dont charge extra for cream for your coffee! WON'T GO BACK!
MoreI got the cfs breakfast and it was amazing!
Came here with a friend. Staff was friendly, food was delicious!
We had breakfast here this morning. I was a little skeptical after reading the negative reviews. But, I'm so glad we went. The food was amazing. I had Texas Trash and my husband had pancakes. Pancakes were excellent...soft and fluffy. Texas Trash was awesome. It was so much food. We couldn't eat it all. Price was reasonable. It was obvious that it wasn't fast food. It was like home cooked. We will definitely be back for more.
MoreDon't get poached eggs. They come out in a bowl with water in it. They replaced them but then still did not bring Fried eggs as ordered. Biscuits were good. Not as good as I was told it was.
MoreExcellent food and friendly service! They had moved to a new place when we drove up and found the old building empty so I Googled the name and we went to the new place which is big and roomy with wide aisles which were great for my walker and we were seated promptly. Our waiter was a nice young man from Colorado who was very friendly and gracious. The food was great as always...
MoreI've always liked the food but have heard many negative things about Tammy, the owner. I've known several people who say she is hard to work for. She will fire anyone who puts in a notice and I have had 3 different people say they have had issued getting paid by her.
MoreWe had excellent service from Laura our waitress. She was very nice to talk to and made sure our was good. Which our food was excellent. 😃
MoreMeal was decent. Tea was good. Service was good. Couldn't try any of the goodies.
MoreI loved it! Their forte seemed to be pancakes, but they had an awesome skillet breakfast and cinnamon roll bombs.
MoreBreakfast was fresh and creative. Large amount of food and delicious.
